Safeguarding

Safeguarding is central to all work undertaken by FlourishEd.

We recognise that schools have clear statutory responsibilities for safeguarding children and young people, and that any work related to well-being must be ethical, boundaried, and aligned with existing safeguarding systems.

FlourishEd’s role is to support preventative, educational, and reflective approaches to well-being. We do not provide therapy, counselling, or diagnosis.

Our Safeguarding Commitment

FlourishEd is committed to working in ways that:

• place the safety and welfare of children and young people first

• respect the professional roles and responsibilities of school staff

• align fully with school safeguarding policies and procedures

• maintain clear professional boundaries at all times

All work is carried out with a strong awareness of safeguarding expectations within education settings.

Working Within School Safeguarding Systems

When working with schools and trusts, FlourishEd:

• works in line with each school’s safeguarding and child protection policies

• follows agreed escalation and reporting procedures

• refers safeguarding concerns directly to the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)

• does not investigate concerns or manage disclosures independently

Any safeguarding concern identified during work with a school is shared promptly and appropriately with the DSL or relevant safeguarding lead.

⸻

Staff and Pupil Well-being Boundaries

FlourishEd’s work focuses on whole-school culture, systems, and preventative practice.

This includes:

• supporting staff confidence and understanding

• strengthening safeguarding culture and early identification

• embedding well-being within curriculum and policy

FlourishEd does not:

• provide one-to-one therapeutic support

• offer mental health diagnosis

• replace the role of pastoral teams, counsellors, or external agencies

Where additional or specialist support may be needed, schools are supported to follow their established referral pathways.

⸻

Safer Working Practice

FlourishEd works in accordance with:

• Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)

• safer working practice expectations within schools

• professional standards appropriate to education consultancy work

All work is planned collaboratively with schools to ensure safeguarding arrangements are clear before any activity takes place.

⸻

Commitment to Trust and Transparency

Safeguarding relies on trust, clarity, and shared responsibility.

FlourishEd is committed to working openly, responsibly, and in partnership with schools and trusts to ensure that well-being work is safe, appropriate, and supportive of existing safeguarding practice.
